N-600 Application For Certificate Of Citizenship

Eligibility of Citizenship through immigration in the United States can occur before or after birth. Either the applicant must have been born in the United States, or one or both of the applicant’s parents must have been citizens of the United States at the time of the applicant’s birth.

Before turning 18 years old, a person must petition for citizenship through one or both of his or her citizen parents, or after turning 18 years old,

they must apply through the Naturalization procedure, to become a citizen of the United States.

Eligibility of Citizenship through immigration for Naturalization

Individuals that are qualified to petition for naturalization include:

  • Those who have met all other criteria for eligibility and have been permanent residents for at least five years;
  • Those who satisfy all qualifying criteria, are spouses of US citizens, and have been permanent residents for three years or longer;
  • Those who fulfill all other eligibility standards, have qualified service in the United States military, and
  • Children of citizens of the U.S.A. who were born abroad and who are still living abroad as long as all other qualifying conditions are satisfied.

The following criteria must be met before applying for N 400 Eligibility of Citizenship through immigration for naturalization:

  • The age of the majority is 18 or older.
  • Live in the United States as a permanent resident for a minimum of five years, or three years if you are the spouse of a citizen.
  • Both the United States and their nation of origin, have a solid moral standing.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of American history, government, and the US Constitution.

During the applicant’s interview with a USCIS official, a Naturalization Test is used to assess the applicant’s knowledge of US history, government, and language abilities as well as their proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

An N-600 application for a Certificate of Eligibility of Citizenship through immigration can be submitted by those who were born outside of the US to US citizens.

If you were born a citizen of the US automatically and you are under the age of 18, you may still submit this application.

The N-600 form is not an application for US citizenship.
In reality, the N-600 form is a request for a Certificate of Citizenship.

While children who frequently reside abroad can apply for U.S. citizenship based on their parents using the N-600K form, those who do not. The application is for obtaining citizenship in the United States and receiving a Certificate of Citizenship.

If a kid satisfies all of the following requirements, they may become citizens of the United States by submitting form N-600K:

  • The child is single;
  • Before the kid becomes 18 years old, USCIS takes the youngster’s oath of allegiance;
  • The youngster frequently lives outside of the United States.
  • The parent who is a US citizen has both physical and legal custody of the kid;
  • The father of the kid who is a citizen of the United States has lived in the country physically for a total of five years, at least two of which were spent after the age of 14. Grandparents are required to satisfy this criterion if the U.S. parent does not;
  • Additionally, the youngster must be temporarily admitted to the country and in legal status at the time of the interview.
